Welcome to the Kenya Water Partnership website, a website that displays issues from a neutral platform that brings together key sector actors on water in its broadest form.
The Kenya Water Partnership (KWP) was formed in November 2003 to promote integrated sustainable water resources management in Kenya. It was set up to address the gap where no organized forum or neutral platform to discuss pressing issues in water resources management existed.
KWP is at the centre of the ongoing reforms in the Kenya Water Sector. Working closely with the Water Resources Management Authority (WRMA) the partnership has provided substantial technical inputs in the development of the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Water Efficiency (WE) plan for Kenya.
It is also implementing the Canadian funded Partnership for Africa's Water Development 1 [PAWD 1] Program which has three components, the development of a national IWRM/WE plan, the strengthening of Kenya Water Partnership and the Integration of water issues into the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper. In this, KWPfocuses on providing stakeholder fora, awareness building and facilitation of the consultation processes.
